Australian carrier Optus might soon release the Android Nougat update for Galaxy A5 units. This can be surmised from the fact that the Optus Galaxy A5 Nougat update has gone under testing.

There was a bit of confusion here regarding Optus A5 devices receiving the latest Android OS update. Apparently, the Australian carrier, in December, had posted on their software update page that the Galaxy A5 Android 7.0 update was being tested and would be released by January end.

However, that did not happen. On the contrary, in mid-January they removed the previous remarks. This meant that Galaxy A5 users in Australia may be stuck with the Marshmallow software.

But even that’s not the case anymore. The latest update from Optus on its software update page (as seen in the image above) reveals that the Marshmallow 6.0.1 based Galaxy A5 device is being tested with the Android 7.0 update with completion expected by February.
