The Galaxy A5 and A7 came up for pre-order earlier this week in Malaysia. The A series even began retailing in Russia way before its official launch. And now we get to know that the pre-order date in Malaysia has been extended to January 22.
The 2017 Galaxy A series brings in IP68 water and dust resistance to its A5 and A7 smartphones. In terms of hardware, the 2017 A series offers the best upgrade over the previous generations of the Galaxy A series devices with better front and back cameras and bigger RAM modules on each of the devices.
As regards to Nougat for the A series, where the devices are expected to be shipping with Marshmallow on board, the Android 7.0 Nougat update should roll out in a couple of months from release. Samsung is currently working on releasing Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices.
For the previous generation Galaxy A5 (2015) model, Nougat update will not be released anytime soon contrary to previous reports. This has been revealed as Optus updated their update plans for the device.
