We had already heard reports that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 2018 would feature an Infinity display. And now, we have some visual evidence of the same.
Seen above, are case renders from the company Olixar, for the Galaxy A5 2018. And you can clearly see the Infinity display on the device. Samsung introduced the Infinity display with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ earlier this year, and has used the same on the Galaxy Note 8.
These renders also show that the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back. Unlike the Galaxy S8 and Note 8’s awkward placement, the fingerprint reader on the Galaxy A5 2018 is below the camera. This looks like a more reachable place for the sensor to be.

The entire line-up for the Galaxy A 2018 series is said to feature the Infinity Display as well. They will most likely not have the same resolution as the flagship devices though. A release date isn’t known yet, but we believe Samsung should unveil these phones in January 2018. The company launched the current 2017 A series in January this year, so they should follow the same timeline.
Samsung is currently working hard on releasing a stable Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Both the devices have received beta versions as part of the Galaxy Beta Program, but are slated to receive the official update in the coming weeks.
