HTC might be making a flagship killer of its own with a new phone to its Desire series of smartphones. In a recent report from upleaks, specifications for a mysterious HTC A55 device have leaked, and surprisingly the device carries specsheet of a flagship device, which it isn’t since it belongs to the Desire line-up of devices, as per the source.
HTC A55 specs include a 5.5 inch Quad HD display, 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 20MP camera on back, 4MP ultrapixel camera on front, BoomSound, Bluetooth 4.1 and a slightly underpowered battery (less than 3000 mAh).
The device is also reported to run Sense 7.0 out of the box, which is another thing HTC is keeping to its upcoming flagship device HTC One M9 only. HTC A55 will come in 3 color choices: White Rose Gold, Gray and Brown Gold. Also, it’ll have the premium accessories like the DotView case.
HTC A55 release date could be sometime in February itself. But HTC also has an event at MWC in 1st week of March, where the company will be announcing its upcoming flagship phone, HTC One M9. HTC could also announce the A55 at the same event, but launching both a Flagship device and a Flagship killer at the same time by the same company might not happen.
