How to Fix Process google.process.gapps.error Has Stopped Error on Android

Are you seeing the dreaded “Unfortunately, the process google.process.gapps.error has stopped” error on your Android device randomly and without any reason? Fret not, you’re not alone. This is a common issue on Android devices and is pretty easy to fix as well.

What you need to do is find the app that is throwing the error on your device. It probably isn’t an OS wide issue, but just one or two of your apps going crazy.

How to Fix “Unfortunately, the process google.process.gapps.error has stopped” Error

  1. Find the app which gives this error.
  2. Go to Settings » Apps » All apps.
  3. Select the app that is giving you the error. This will take you to the app info page.
  4. Select Clear cache and then see if the app works fine.
  5. If not, go back to app info page and Clear data as well.
    └ Clearing app data will delete all data specific to the app. This includes logins, game progress/saves, etc.
  6. If even clearing data doesn’t help, then simply Uninstall the app and download it again from the Play Store.
    └ If it’s a system app which cannot be uninstalled. Then Disable & Enable the app from the App info page.
  7. Reboot device.
