Samsung has gone all out with the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 devices this year, leaving no stone unturned to make them the most feature-rich smartphones on the market. While most users are satisfied with the devices’ performance, some have brought forth quite a strange issue, claiming the phones have a flickering pixel at the top of the display panel.
If you’re, too, are annoyed by the ‘rogue’ pixel, there’s a pretty straightforward ‘fix’ you could try. The flickering pixel is nothing but your device’s proximity sensor, so, to turn it off, you’ll need to toggle off Accidental touch protection in Settings.
Not that you will lose proximity sensor and its uses if you turn it off, but you won’t notice that flickering once you turn off the advanced option ‘Accidental touch protection’ in Settings.
How to turn off flickering Pixel on your Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10
As we said above, that pixel is your doorway to the proximity sensor on the device. So, the flickering is not an issue. You may completely ignore it and live your life. However, if you don’t like it, then here’s how to turn it off:
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your phone. Tap Display.
Step 2: Scroll down and toggle off Accidental touch protection.
That’s it.

This actually fixed my S10! Today it started blinking even off of calls and after a reboot. After toggling this accidental touch setting, it stopped blinking so I toggled it back on and it stopped permanently! Thanks!
