Motorola released the first generation Moto X smartphone in 2013 and the device received the taste of the Android Lollipop flavor after all the recent models launched by the firm. The prime reason for the delay in the rollout of the update is the presence of the dated Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor in the device.
Notably, the Android updates have to be tweaked before they are rolled out to the original Moto X. For this reason, the handset is the last one in the Moto lineup to receive the update.
It was in the last month that the Moto X first generation model received the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update after a considerable number of delays and soak tests. Now, the soak test for a new update has debuted in Brazil and it is meant for the Android 5.1 Lollipop build.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop build is the latest one and the Moto X (Gen 2) runs on this build. The update brings both stability and usability enhancements and also enhances the quick settings providing better control over the interrupts and notifications. The update is responsible for the improvement in the performance of the camera and the Android system on the whole. It also brings a lot of bug fixes to the table.
The new soak test in Brazil for the Moto X 2013 model is similar to the Android 5.1 Lollipop and if things happen smoothly we can expect the update to rollout on a global basis in the next month. Moto X first generation model will receive regular updates till the end of this year and the firm is dedicated in providing the same.
