The first photo of the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been leaked online on Twitter courtesy of the folks behind the @evleaks account, who have constantly leaked actual photos of upcoming devices in the past and are doing it again with the most anticipated flagship smartphone of this year.
The image you see seems to be taken off Samsung’s website, as it mentions its specs alongside the device, though the render of the phone itself looks a bit too plain and placeholder-ish to be taken for concrete proof. Not to mention Samsung has a tendency to release fake images leading up to the launch of its flagship devices, though if this does turn out to be the final design, I can see many cheering Samsung for finally letting go of the round pebble-like designs of all its devices released in 2012.
Another thing the image confirms (if it’s true of course) is that the Galaxy S4 will sport a Super AMOLED display after all, after rumours of the company going for an LCD display instead seeded doubt in everyone’s minds. The Full HD resolution is also mentioned, but we aren’t expecting anything less in this age of 1080p displays.
Let’s not get excited just yet though, there’s a few days left before the official announcement of the Galaxy S4 and we might just a few more renders of the device before then. Best to take everything with quite a few pinches of salt for now.
What do you guys think?
