You play as Tessa Langley and Marcus Reed through the full story of Fears to Fathom: Scratch Creek, from moving day to escaping the Old Scratch Temple cult.
Scratch Creek is a little different from the other Fears to Fathom episodes: it’s a two-player co-op horror story where both characters sometimes go through separate moments at the same time. You follow Tessa Langley and Marcus Reed, a young couple from Oregon moving across state lines for Marcus’s first job. A wrong exit drops them into Ironbark State Park, and the night turns into a fight to get out alive.
How to complete the full story in Fears to Fathom: Scratch Creek
Load the trailer
Pack the couch, TV, hallway boxes, and the big audio box from the basement into the trailer.

Stow the luggage in the car trunk
Put the luggage in the trunk of the car, not the back of the trailer, or you can get soft locked.

Attach the trailer and drive off
Hook the trailer to the car and head out onto the interstate.

Follow the navigation into Ironbark State Park
Take the suggested exit and pass the park signage as the trees start to shake and a tree falls on the road.

Turn right and climb the hill
The car struggles, smoke rises from the hood, and a road rager honks from behind.
Look for help at the gas stations
Search both stations until Harry agrees to check the car and finds a coolant leak.
Drive down to Bill’s house
Follow Buck’s directions for a patch job and stay off the highway.

Take the trail to Julia’s Bed and Breakfast
Use Bill’s flashlight to follow the path to the majestic suite for the night.

Sleep, then wake at 3:33 a.m.
Watch the cult burning a coffin in the graveyard during the devil’s hour.

Hide in the coffins and escape
Wait out the cult members in the side room, then run out the front gate into Scratch Creek.
Video help
The game rewards you for not trusting the GPS. While driving on the interstate, the navigation tells you to take the next exit because of traffic congestion. If you ignore it and stay on the interstate, you take the wrong road but merge back later safely and trigger a secret ending.
The second chance comes at the end of the road. The navigation says to turn right onto Roseburg Road, but the signs actually point to Roseburg on the left. Drive left and you get another good secret ending. Both times, ignoring the directions is the win.
Where the story splits between Tessa and Marcus
The co-op design means the two characters often separate. The first split happens at Julia’s, when you head into the bathroom and overhear two men talking about you through the door. From there the perspectives keep diverging.
While Tessa waits in the suite for towels, Marcus gets stuck in the basement and texts for help, having gone to the temple to fetch them. Marcus finds the altar, the animal heads, and an underground tunnel of coffins that leads back through the restricted door. Pay attention to the ladder running up to the suite bathroom window during this stretch — it matters later when the intruder uses it to break in.
Cult clues in the guestbook and the Morning Star
The guestbook downstairs is where the story tips its hand. Past guests warn to beware the Old Scratch Temple Cult, mention people walking the stairs at night, and repeat that the Morning Star watches over you. Morning Star and Old Scratch are both names for the devil, tied to Isaiah 14:12.
Scratch Creek also ties directly into Ironbark Lookout. Silas Hobbs, that episode’s antagonist, signed the book and belongs to the same cult. The man arguing with Miss Julia references Mitch, and the cult member searching the coffin room is Connor Hawkins — both familiar faces from Ironbark Lookout.
Ignore the in-game navigation twice — stay on the interstate instead of exiting, and turn left toward Roseburg instead of right — to unlock both secret endings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why shouldn’t you put the luggage in the trailer?
If you throw the luggage into the back of the trailer where you can’t reach it, you can get soft locked. Put it in the trunk of the car instead.
Is Scratch Creek connected to Ironbark Lookout?
Yes. It shares the Ironbark State Park setting, and Silas Hobbs, Mitch, and Connor Hawkins all appear, all tied to the Old Scratch Temple cult.
What time do you wake up in the story?
You wake at 3:33 a.m., called the devil’s hour, the inverse of the hour of Jesus’ death, and find cult members burning a coffin in the graveyard.
What does the cult want with Marcus?
Overhearing Miss Julia, you learn they need someone for a sacrifice after an earlier guest escaped, and they’ve settled on Marcus as the replacement.
