The latest version of Android — Nougat 7.0 — features split screen for Android phones and tablets alike. Previously this feature was only available to select Android tablets running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Split screen has been around for a long time on Samsung Android devices, but very few (including us) actually used the feature. So it’s to be seen how Android users welcome and adapt to this new feature on Android Nougat that aims to make multi-tasking even more efficient on Android devices.
If you find yourself using split screen more than a couple of times in a day, you can enable this hidden feature from System UI Tuner settings that let’s swipe-up on the recents button to bring up split screen view.
Enable Split Screen Swipe-Up Gesture on Nougat
- Enable System UI Tuner on your device.
- Go to Settings » System UI Tuner.
- Select Other and turn On Enable split-screen swipe-up gesture toggle.
- Swipe-up on recents button to enable split-screen view.
Happy Androiding!
