ZTE Axon 7 being the best Android device from ZTE till date will definitely get the Android 7.0 Nougat update officially from the chinese manufacturer. However, Google has already released Android 7.1 Nougat as a developer preview release for the Nexus 5X, 6P and Pixel C. And thanks to folks over at xda, you can get Android 7.1 installed on your ZTE Axon 7 too, unofficially.

A new custom ROM by the name Nello is in the making for ZTE Axon 7. It is based on CM14.1 sources and is currently under alpha testing. The developer will release the ROM once it seems fitting for public use.

CM14.1 is an Android 7.1 Nougat based AOSP ROM developed and maintained by CyanogenMod — the most popular custom ROM for Android devices.

This is an unofficial release of CM14.1 for ZTE Axon 7 and is NOT perfect yet. Check all details about the ROM below, along with downloads and installation instructions.
