When we talk about PIT file, we have to start off with a warning: USE THEM WISELY. Here you will find Samsung Galaxy S6 PIT files, for many variants of the device, so be sure to use them only on Galaxy S6 with given model no., and NOT ON ANY OTHER DEVICE. Your device’s model no. should start with G920.
→ Btw, if your device’s model no. begins with G925, then check here for Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE PIT Files.
PIT file lays down a partition table for the device, and if you use wrong PIT file on your device, its partitions get faulty and device gets damaged.
You need PIT file when you flash a wrong firmware or ROM on your device, resulting in some problem with partitions. Flashing your device’s firmware might not help in such cases, unless you also use PIT file for your device with that.
To fix Galaxy S6 with bad partitions, you would need to select the PIT file — as relevant for your device, go by the model no. — along with the firmware file.
If you plan to use the PIT file, then better use latest version of Odin, v3.10.6. And select the firmware in AP option, while select the PIT file in PIT option under the separate PIT tab in the software.
Download PIT file based on your S6’s model no., and check that in Settings > About device screen, or on the packaging box of the device.
PIT files are available for following model nos. of Galaxy S6:
- International Galaxy S6
- USA Galaxy S6 variants
- AT&T (SM-G920A) — not available
- Sprint (SM-G920P) — not available
- T-Mobile (SM-G920T)
- Verizon (SM-G920V) — not available
- US Cellular (SM-G920R4) — not available
- Canada Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8)

Btw, in case you’re wondering, the PIT files are common for a particular model no. with different memory capacity. As long as model no. is same, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a 32GB set, or 64 or 128 GB one. Be sure to choose the PIT file for your device’s model no. otherwise you may brick your device.
