Update [August 19]: After rolling out the China Beta ROM to the first and second batch of supported devices which include Mi 6, Redmi Note 4 (Qualcomm), Redmi Note 4X, Mi Mix, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, and Redmi 4/4X, the company has now released the Global Beta ROM for Xiaomi Mi 6, Redmi Note 4, and Redmi Note 4X.
If you own any of the said devices, you can download the Global Beta ROM from the link provided below where you’ll also find the official changelog.

Update [August 17]: MIUI 9 China Beta ROM is now coming to more devices. The company is currently looking for beta testers and will begin testing the following devices: Xiaomi Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, and Mi Pad 3 from August 23. If you haven’t applied for beta testing, you can do so from the link provided below or from here.
Xiaomi has finally announced the MIUI 9 yesterday. The latest version of MIUI comes pre-installed on the Mi 5X which was also unveiled yesterday.
As far as other devices are concerned, MIUI 9 is currently under testing, and the company is looking for beta testers. If you are interested, you can apply to become a beta tester from the link provided below.

In case you are selected, you will be able to download the MIUI 9 China ROM on your respective handsets. The first batch of beta testers have already been selected by the company, and the first closed MIUI 9 China Developer ROM is already out too. You can download it from the below link, that is if you have been selected.

If you don’t intend to be a beta tester, however, you’ll have to wait until the company rolls out the stable version of MIUI to the public. Which BTW, will begin on August 11th for Mi 6, Mi 5X and Redmi Note 4X (Qualcomm) handsets.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max 32G, Mi Max 64G/128G, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi Note Pro, and Redmi 4X will receive the MIUI 9 China Developer ROM (public version) on August 25th.

All the other Xiaomi handsets (except Mi 1/1S and Mi 2A) will get the MIUI 9 China ROM sometime in late September.
There’s currently no word on the global roll out of MIUI 9 ROM. We will keep you posted as and when we learn more about the same. Until then, keep a tab on this space.
