The announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S3 confirmed that Flipboard, the famous social networking and news aggregation app on iOS, was in development for Android as well. For the uninitiated, Flipboard is an app that collects the contents of social media and other websites and presents it in a magazine format, letting you “flip” through the content.

Flipboard was announced as a Galaxy S3 exclusive, and though it will eventually be making its way to everyone on the Android Market aka Play Store (I’m guessing after the S3 launches), you don’t have to wait that long as a very kind member of the XDA forums got his hands on the S3, extracted the APK of Flipboard and has now made it available for everyone to download and use.

So without further ado, head over to the XDA page where the APK can be downloaded and install it on your device right away. Do let us know what you think of the app after using it, in the comments below. Galaxy S3 exclusive? I think not. Cheerio!
