Well, Android 6.0 is upon us, or nearly so. And it’s dubbed as Marshmallow. Which is cool, right? While we couldn’t get to taste Android 6.0 in flesh — it’s yet to be released after all — but thanks to Google releasing the Android 6.0 SDK yesterday, we already have the Marshmallow’s boot animation available for flashing on our current device. You will need TWRP or similar custom recovery for this, btw.

You have to thank frantisek.nesveda for this, who used Dustin Wann’s Marshmallow boot animation for Nexus 6 to create a compatible boot animation for various resolution sizes thus increasing compatibility with large no. of devices.

Download the boot animation provided below as per your device’s screen resolution — use this app to know about your device — and then install the boot animation using a custom recovery like TWRP, CWM, PhilZ, Carliv, etc.

If your current ROM (like CM12.1 does) supports addon.d scripts, you can create backup of your current boot animation by flashing this zip first. If you didn’t get what this is, simply ignore this.
