If you are not in love with the latest update Samsung pushed to your device, now you can simply downgrade AT&T Galaxy Note 4 to Android 4.4 KitKat build N910AUCU1BNK3, and leave in the same peace you before the update. The much-awaited Lollipop update from Samsung hasn’t really been everyone’s favorite, and because there is no stock Lollipop UI to look forward, many of you could be bending in favor of KitKat for improved performance, complete support for Xposed framework and its modules, and what-nots!
The TAR files are now available, meaning you can install KitKat on your AT&T galaxy Note 4 using the famous Odin software. You don’t need to unroot or remove TWRP/CWM recovery for this if you have any, because firmware flash through Odin will automatically remove all root and recovery stuff, and bring your Note 4 back to factory settings. Be sure to create appropriate backup before attempting the downgrade. Full credits and standing ovation for this firmware goes to Sunderwear, thanks!
Once you downgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat, you can still upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop if you wish to, so that’s not a worry — and if you wanna give Holo UI and KitKat a chance again, there is no harm in it. Even root is easily available on good ol’ KitKat.

Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files. Sometimes, Odin installation may delete everything on your device!
- Download Odin and firmware file from above.
- Install Galaxy Note 4 drivers first of all. Download the latest drivers file, v1.5.51.0, and then double click the .exe file to begin installation. (Btw, this is not required if you have already done this.)
- Extract the firmware file now. You can use a free software like 7-zip for this. Install 7-zip, then right click on firmware file and under 7-zip, select ‘Extract here’.
- You should get a folder named ‘N910AUCU1BNK3’ containing the 4 file in .tar.md5 format, as given below. We will installing these files on your Note 4, and hence will load these files into Odin software (in step 10 below).
- AP_N910AUCU1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
- BL_N910AUCU1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

- CSC_ATT_N910AATT1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
- Extract the Odin file. You should get this file, Odin3 v3.10.6.exe (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).
- Disconnect your AT&T Note 4 from PC if it is connected.
- Boot the Note 4 into download mode:
- Power off your device. Wait 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
- Press and hold the three buttons Volume Down + Power + Home together until you see warning screen.
- Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.
- Double click on extracted file of Odin, Odin3 v3.10.6.exe, to open the Odin window, as shown below. Be careful with Odin, and do just as said to prevent problems.
- Connect your Galaxy Note 4 to PC now using USB cable. Odin should recognize your device. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. It’s a must! Look at the pic below.
- You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.
- If you don’t get Added!! message, you need to install/re-install drivers again, and use the original cable that came with device. Mostly, drivers are the problem (look at step 2 above).
- You can try different USB ports on your PC too, btw.
- Load the firmware files into Odin (that you got in step 4 above). Click the appropriate button on Odin and select the file mention below respectively.
- Click BL button, and select this file – BL_N910AUCU1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
- Click AP button, and select this file – AP_N910AUCU1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

- Click CSC button, and select this file – CSC_ATT_N910AATT1BNK3_CL3164227_QB2947853_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
Info: When you load files, Odin checks the md5 sum of the firmware files, which takes time. So, simply wait until that’s done and the firmware file is loaded. Don’t worry if Odin gets unresponsive for a while, it’s normal. Binary size will also show up in Odin.
- Make sure Re-partition checkbox is NOT selected, under the Options tab. Don’t use PIT tab either. Go back to Log tab btw, it will show the progress when you hit start button in next step.
- Click the Start button on Odin now to start flashing the firmware on your Galaxy Note 4. Wait till installation is finished, after which your Note 4 will reboot automatically. You’ll getPASS message as show below upon successful installation from Odin.
- If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do steps 6 to 12 again. For this, close Odin, disconnect your device, remove battery, insert it back after 5-6 seconds and then start from step 6 again.
- Or, if you get FAIL in the top left box, you need to try flashing again, as stated just above.
- First start of the device may take time, so wait patiently again. Check the Settings > About phone to confirm new firmware.
That’s it. You have completed the downgrade process to install Android 4.4 KitKat N910AUCU1BNK3 firmware alright on your AT&T Galaxy Note 4. Enjoy!
