Doogee, the lesser known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, showcased a bezel-less phone named Doogee Mix last month at the Global Electronics Show in Hong Kong. This month the phone has been made official but the pricing and availability are yet to be announced. However, as per a leak the Doogee Mix should carry a price tag of 1200 Yuan in China which translates to $170.
Coming out of China via Weibo, a leakster mentioned that the 4GB Doogee Mix price will be set at 1200 Yuan in the parent country. Notably, this is way less than the over $500 priced Xiaomi Mi Mix device to which the Doogee phone bears great resemblance. In fact, the media has dubbed it as the Mi Mix clone.
Featuring a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, the Doogee Mix also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top which is lacking in Mi Mix. The phone comes in two storage options – 4GB/6GB with 64GB native storage. Doogee is also releasing a limited edition with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with MediaTek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.5GHz.
The phone with all metal body sports dual rear cameras with 16MP+8MP resolution with PDAF and dual LED flash and a 5MP selfie snapper which is uniquely placed on the bottom bezel of the device alongwith a fingerprint scanner as the top is completely bezel-less. To keep the juices flowing, there’s a 3380mAH battery with 5V/2A fast charging.
With such high-end specsheet and a great looking phone, the 1200 Yuan price is a great bargain. This device will definitely be a hit in the Chinese market, but how reliable will users of other regions find the company, and whether this phone will ever make it abroad, well we will have to see.
