If you already have a subscription to DirecTV then you may be wondering if your subscription will cover Discovery Plus or not. Here is all you need to know about the availability of Discovery Plus channels on DirecTV.

Is Discovery Plus on DirecTV?

Discovery Plus is an independent streaming platform much like Netflix. While DirecTV is a satellite television platform that allows users to view a large number of channels. As of now, Discovery Plus streaming is not available on satellite television streaming platforms like DirecTV. So, even if you are subscribed to DirecTV you will not be able to stream Discovery Plus.

Will Discovery Plus be on DirecTV?

Discovery Plus has not disclosed if they will be collaborating with satellite or cable services to bring the streaming platform to users. So, it is unclear if Discovery Plus will at all be available on DirecTV in the future. Users have to wait and watch if either DirecTV or Discovery Plus announce their collaboration.

Other providers like Dish and Xfinity seem to have their own utilities to allow users to access streaming services however Discovery plus still seems to be missing from them. Dish users require the latest smart boxes to access this feature while Xfinity users need to get the Flex unit to stream Netflix and other services. There is a chance that DirecTV will jump onto the bandwagon in the near future and introduce new ways to access streaming services on their network but currently, there is no word on it. We shall keep you updated in case anything turns up in the future.

  1. Do you think its fair we pay the provider’s for all the channels that’s on discovery plus, the programs that you made popular now we have to pay for again? Like Mountain Monsters we made popular now can’t watch on what we already pay for through your provider, we have to pay for again for the new seasons. What about Ghost Adventures? Don’t we pay the providers for that on Travel Channel? Now they have it on Discovery Plus give us more money. Boycott this Discovery Plus and get what you already pay for through your providers. If you don’t pay for this then where do they put what’s on Discovery Plus but back on the channels you already pay for.

  2. I dont have the capability to get discovery plus so ami ever going to see the new episodes of mountain monsters? I pay alot of money for direct tv

  3. Lorrie Darland Boswell

This is ridiculous I may be willing to pay extra to watch the shows i want but I need it on something bigger than my phone. I don’t understand why TV shows can’t be on TV. Makes me want to go back to my other provider.

  4. I think this is an unfair scheme to make as much money as they can no matter what. Forget the fact that many people cannot afford it. It is EXCLUSIVE! I believe in innovation but at what cost? It needs to be made available to all. I honestly cannot believe that people would set up programming like this but money and greed talk!

  5. My family and I are not able to have internet independent of my cell phone. We have lost 90% of the shows we once enjoyed. What is the plan for those in rural areas that cannot get internet that supports online streaming? Extremely disappointed in Discovery and Direct TV.

  6. I hate discovery plus….why should my husband and I have to pay extra jus to watch our favorite shows….it’s🐂💩

  7. I see Seal Team will only be on Discovery + starting Nov. 1. This is outlandish that we pay for cable or satellite tv then have to pay for a network show on a streaming channel that is unavailable on our satellite service. Directv needs to offer a channel for Discovery+ so everyone can at least see the show if they pay the price for service.
This is appalling. I’m ready to go a la cart. AT&T is terrible and the worse company existing. Once Directv was bought by them they went down hill. I have had everything and thought Directv was the best but now it’s as bad as the others.
From someone on a fixed income….tv will be my highest bill to date. Soooo terrible.

    1. I agree with you. I have ask this too!! What is going on??? We pay a very high price all ready. Now some of the best shows are on + channels because you know it is popular. This awful!!!!

  8. I already pay over $350 for Direct TV and then they take the shows off that I was watching. Now they want me to pay more . Not happening ! All this is going to do is make me drop DIRECTV. I can find a better way to watch my shows .

  9. Idk why everyone is so upset with Discovery+ when it’s DirecTV who’s charging outrageous prices while decreasing their content. They’re not innovative when it comes to competing with what many TV and movie companies did during the pandemic in order to keep their profits up. Just find streaming companies that offer your favorite shows and drop DirecTV, and I’m willing to bet that you’ll save a little bit on your TV bill.
