Hey, that’s very good news for the HTC Desire Z users who hadn’t hacked there way to Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROMs and instead were looking very patiently very forward to HTC to distribute the latest Android OS to them. Well, HTC just announced they have flipped the switch to start the update process of Desire Z phones across the world, updating it to Android 2.3.3 — factually, that’s not the latest Android OS v2.3.4, but it’s okay.
It’s an Over-The-Air update so you don’t have to go hunting for it anywhere. Your dear Desire Z will let you know when it gets the clearance from HTC update center, and all you have to do is check notification bar for it. When you get the OTA update notification, accept it and begin downloading (WiFi preferred!). If battery’s low, it will notify you to charge the battery to at least 50% or so, after which the process will start automatically. Once it’s downloaded, select yes wherever asked and the Gingerbread installation process would begin automatically and when the phone restarts itself after the installation, and you’ll have the Android 2.3.3 rocking on your phone.
Google luck fora very early OTA notification! Let us know your views in the comments below once you’ve updated your phone.
