It was only a couple of days ago OnePlus confirmed that the company’s most successful devices till date, the OnePlus 3 and 3T will receive the Android 8.0 (O) update. While that’s definitely good news, OnePlus 2 users raised their concerns asking if their handsets will ever receive the Nougat update.
So far, OnePlus kept mum regarding the issue leaving the OP2 users in the dark. However, the company has now confirmed that it won’t be rolling out the Nougat update to the OnePlus 2.
A OnePlus 2 user revealed his conversation with the company’s customer care services representative which read “As much as we would like to give the latest update on the OnePlus 2, we’ve discontinued updates for dated devices. But we will continue to support the limited warranty for current users and provide updates and support the best way we can even for OnePlus 2 users.”
As you can see, the company’s representative has clearly confirmed that the OnePlus 2 won’t get an update to Android Nougat. This is especially disappointing considering the fact that OnePlus had previously confirmed to roll out the update to OnePlus 2 users.
