| Key Location | Glenbright Manor (south of Hernand) |
| Blueprint Source | Secret basement room |
| Unlock Feature | Dispatch Missions at Greymane Camp |

| Optional Upgrade | Scholastone Institute research (Chapter 5) |
1 – Getting the cloudcart blueprint
Your journey begins at Glenbright Manor, located south of Hernand during Chapter 3. This section is tied directly to the main questline, so you won’t miss it if you’re progressing normally.
Inside the manor, you’ll encounter a Glenbright Manor puzzle sequence. You need to locate two golden daggers hidden within the building and place them in their correct positions. Once placed correctly, interact with a horse painting to reveal a hidden key, which unlocks access to the basement.

In the basement’s secret room, you’ll find the Cloudcart Blueprint lying on the floor. This is the critical item required to proceed further.
2 – Crafting the Cloudcart
Continue progressing through Chapter 3 until you complete Bustling Hill, part of the Pioneering quests. This unlocks the dispatch system at Greymane Camp, where you can send your companions on resource and crafting missions.

Once unlocked, head to Emberwind Workshop, located just north of Glenbright Manor. Here, you’ll find a dispatch coordinator NPC.
Send your comrades on the “Cloudcruiser Crafting” or “Skrystreaker Crafting” mission, using the blueprint you acquired earlier. After the mission completes, the Cloudcart becomes available in your mount menu, alongside your horse.
How to use the Cloudcart in Crimson Desert
Once unlocked, the Cloudcart fundamentally changes how you move through the world. You can access it from the same radial menu as your mounts.
To operate it, you board the cart, ignite the burner, and begin flight. The updated mechanics make it far more responsive and practical.

Key control mechanics include maintaining altitude and adjusting height dynamically. You can hold the trigger (such as R2) to stabilize your position mid-air, making it easier to navigate tricky terrain or hover near objectives.

Its biggest strength is vertical mobility, allowing you to reach cliffs, towers, and mountain peaks that are otherwise difficult to access.
Crimson Desert Cloudcart types
There are currently three known Cloudcart variants available, each improving on the previous one in performance and handling.
| Variant | Description |
|---|---|
| Basic Cloudcart | Standard version with balanced performance |
| Cruiser Cloudcart | Improved handling and slightly better speed |
| Skystreaker | Best variant with superior speed and altitude control |
The later variants enhance both speed and maneuverability, making long-distance traversal smoother and more efficient.

Cloudcart upgrades location
Later in the game, around Chapter 5, you gain access to Cloudcart Efficiency research at the Scholastone Institute. This upgrade reduces production time, improves performance, and enhances overall usability.

While optional, this upgrade is strongly recommended if you plan to rely heavily on aerial traversal.
Why the Cloudcart is worth unlocking

The Cloudcart isn’t just another mount—it’s a mobility upgrade that reshapes exploration. Its ability to gain vertical height quickly makes it invaluable for reaching hidden areas, shortcuts, and vantage points.
Compared to ground mounts, it offers unmatched freedom, especially in mountainous regions or densely structured environments.
With the recent update improving its verticality and control responsiveness, it has become one of the most viable mounts in the game.
