It’s not often you see a high-end quad-core Android device sporting dual-SIM functionality, but being a country where dual-SIM smartphones are kind of a norm, China will soon see the release of the YL-Coolpad 9960, a dual-SIM Android phone which would sport a larger than 5-inch display and a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and has recently passed certification at the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The YL-Coolpad will have support for both GSM as well as CDMA2000 networks, and will possibly offer dual-standby mode. The version of Android running on it wasn’t mentioned, but we’ll take Android 4.0 as the best guess.
There’s no information on the YL-Coolpad 9960’s release date, price and other specs, but that should come out in due time. The device is certainly a good mix of dual-SIM functionality and powerful specs, so it should be quite a good seller.
