How to Check if Your Galaxy Note 7 Battery is Faulty

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been facing battery issues since release. And many users since then have reported exploded batteries on the device. It has been in the news all over.

If you want to make sure that your Galaxy Note 7 isn’t affected by a faulty battery, Samsung has released an online tool to let users check if their Note 7 devices aren’t safe and has a faulty battery installed.

The online tool (a website) verifies your Note 7’s safety by checking its IMEI number (which you provide) against the batch of Note 7 devices that shipped with faulty batteries.

How to Check if your Note 7 is Safe

  1. Get IMEI number of your Galaxy Note 7
    1. From device: Dial *#06#.
    2. From Note 7 Box: Look around your Galaxy Note 7 box, it shall have the device’s IMEI number printed there.
  2. Go to Note 7 Checking Site.
  3. Use your IMEI number on the online tool to check if your Note 7 has a faulty battery.
  4. If your device is affected and is not safe to use, contact Samsung Customer Care immediately and ask for a replacement device or refund.

Stay safe!
