What to know
- Being a Chinese app, Rednote is largely in Mandarin by default.
- Change Rednote's language to English by logging in, tapping the three horizontal lines (top left), selecting Settings > General Settings > Languages > English > Save.
While TikTok struggles to avoid a blanket ban in the US, users are now flocking to another Chinese app called Rednote. Rednote is a blend between TikTok and Instagram and is quite popular in China. Which is why you'll find most of its content, include the Settings and other UI options in Mandarin.
But now that Rednote is seeing a huge influx of users, app developers have been forced to add an English language option too. So if you recently joined Rednote but the language isn't set to English by default, here's how to change that.
How to change the language in Rednote to English
The option to change the default language in Rednote is available within the app's settings. But before you can access it, you'll need to sign up and log in to Rednote. Assuming you've already done that, here's how to change Rednote to English.
