The mobile-only application is generally exceptionally reliable. However, reliability doesn’t take care of offputting server issues and unforeseen delays. Today, we’ll take a closer look at the unnerving delays and tell you what you should do during that phase.

Cash App transfers are almost always instantaneous. However, there are occasions when the app throws an exception, asking you to wait a little longer — aka ‘Payment Pending.’ It simply means the transfer has been initiated but cannot be fulfilled instantly.
Generally, users are asked to wait for a couple of hours and let the Cash App take care of the problem. However, if you’re one of the few who aren’t satisfied with half-baked answers, you would probably want to know more about the issue.
Why is my cash app pending?
There are multiple reasons why a Cash App payment fails to process right away.
Server unreachable
Connectivity issues do not always take place on the user side. Banks and Cash App servers, too, fail to communicate with one another, which results in frustration for the user on the other end of the screen. As a consumer, you cannot do anything to sort this one out. If you’re desperate, you could call your bank and get in touch with Cash App support, ask what the issue is. Connectivity problem
If you have a dodgy internet connection, Cash App can throw up the Payment Pending issue. So, before you start a transaction session, it’s important to check whether the WiFi and/or mobile data are working properly. In case of inconsistent results, be sure to wait a while before proceeding with the transaction.
Insufficient balance
Keeping track of your account balance and outgoing payment is of paramount importance. Even a minor slip-up can throw unnerving errors at you, including the dreaded ‘Payment Pending’ issue. So, before you commit and look to transfer funds to someone else’s account, make sure your account balance is greater than the sum you are transferring. If not, Cash App will keep the payment in a pending state and only process it when your account balance is sufficient.
Unknown sender
If unknown Cash App users are sending you payments, Cash App would try to safeguard your account by putting the incoming payments in the pending section. That way, you will only receive payment from unknown Cash App users when you choose to accept.
Other issues
Although uncommon, Cash App can also get stuck while processing if you’ve chosen to skip a critical software update, making it susceptible to rogue crashes. Additionally, using expired credit or debit cards could also result in an error.
Finally, Cash App is currently working only in the United States. If the recipient is not a citizen of the States, the payment will not go through.
How long does Cash app pending?
Users have reported receiving the payment in a short while, but if you are curious how much could be the maximum time, well, that would be 5 days.
Hi again ? Are you referring to your pending direct deposit? It can still take up to 5 business days to clear.

Do not retry payments just yet
These issues are not rare, but they do have a habit of solving themselves out. Hence, do wait and do not try to repeat the transaction.
We're aware of connection issues preventing payments from being sent successfully and are actively working on a fix. Please do not retry any pending payments at this time.

How to solve connectivity issues
When a connectivity issue occurs, you do not have much control over it. If it’s from your end, you could simply wait for your internet connectivity to improve. However, if it’s due to your bank, you can only call them up and ask for specifics. Cash App servers, too, can act up, of course. In that case, you should get in touch with the Cash App customer care team and ask for their help.
If you have already started a transaction and see the Payment Pending issue, you should clear the payment after a few minutes and try again after the internet connection improves. To clear an outstanding payment, first, you have to launch the Cash App and tap on the clock icon on the right-hand corner of your screen to go to the ‘Activity’ page. This screen would show all the transactions from your account. Now, head over to the ‘Cash App pending payments’ section and locate the pending payment you wish to cancel. You can cancel the payment by hitting the vertical ellipsis at the top-right corner and hitting ‘Cancel.’
Once canceled successfully, you can retry the payment from scratch.
How to solve insufficient balance issue
This issue is already self-explanatory, which means you only need to deposit money into your bank account to get the Cash App application up and running again. To add money to your Cash App account, first, launch Cash App and go to the ‘Banking’ tab on your Cash App home screen. Now, hit ‘Add Cash,’ enter an amount, and tap on ‘Add.’ Verify with your Cash App pin or touch ID to confirm.
How to accept pending payments from strangers
When someone is sending you money for the first time through Cash App, it doesn’t go directly to your account. Cash App puts the payment in pending, giving you the option to either accept or reject it. Doing either is pretty straightforward.
First, launch Cash App on your mobile and tap on the clock icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen to go to the ‘Activity’ tab. Now, under the ‘Cash App pending payment’ area, you’ll find the pending incoming payments. Tap on the ‘Accept’ button right next to a pending payment to let the payment through. The next screen would ask you for confirmation. Tap on ‘Confirm’ and then ‘Done’ to conclude the process.
From the next time, you will not have to go through the same steps to accept payment for this particular sender. Incoming payments would be deposited directly to your account.
What to do when nothing works?
Cash App assures pending payments issue is not exactly a cause for concern. When you’re on the receiving end of a payment, you might have to take a proactive approach to allow it. However, in other cases, waiting may be the best course of action.
If a transaction goes to the pending state, all you have to do is sit tight and wait one or two hours. Server issues tend to get resolved within that period of time. And if it still doesn’t work, you can always have a chat with the Cash App customer care team.
