If you were a budding gamer back in the late 90’s, Carmageddon is a name you would identify with immediately, and it is sure to bring that devilish grin to your face. Carmageddon was perhaps the most outrageously, but enjoyable violent, car racing cum car fighting cum pedestrian killing game of that era. Fast forward to 2012, and Carmageddon is all set to make a comeback for Android devices, thanks to Stainless Games who is porting it for the mobile devices running Android as well as iOS.

The concept of the game is simple- you have 3 objectives : One: you finish the race. Two: you destroy each of your competitors. Three: you run over, shoot, maim or kill every last pedestrian in sight- simple! The port will have on-screen controls as well as accelerometer based tilt controls. So you can use whichever you feel comfortable with.

From what we have seen and heard, the graphics may look a bit dated, if you were to compare it with modern day mobile racing games like Real Racing and NFS Shift, but there is no denying that the adrenaline and fun element is intact, and perhaps outdoes that of most modern day games out there. Carmageddon is expected to land on  Planet Android by  the end of this year, or latest by early 2013, and we hope it is the former. No news yet on whether it will be a free app or a paid one.
