Game Pass users rejoice! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is now available on Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This is the first time ever Microsoft has included a Call of Duty game into the mix. But it’s not out of sheer generosity that Microsoft’s taken this step.
The company recently announced a steep price hike for Game Pass subscribers. On September 12th onwards, existing Game Pass Ultimate members will witness a hike from $16.99 to $19.99 per month, while the cost of the PC Game Pass will rise from $9.99 to $11.99.
Many are calling this a sad day for Game Pass subscribers. But it appears Microsoft is trying to cushion the blow on Game Pass subscribers by including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to the mix.
There will also be a new ‘Standard’ Xbox Game Pass for new members soon. Though it won’t include access to day-one games (another sad story), it will include online multiplayer, something that Game Pass for Console doesn’t include. It won’t exactly be cheap either, and is expected to go for $14.99 per month.
Amidst all this price hikes, the supremely popular first person shooter is some consolation for Game Pass holders. Microsoft is also expected to include the next installment in Activation’s franchise – Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – on Game Pass later this year.
All existing Game Pass subscribers, that is Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass users will get day-once access to the upcoming installment. So if you’re thinking of becoming a Game Pass subscriber and want to get day-once access to new and upcoming titles (especially Activision’s), get the PC Game Pass or the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
