LG V10 has the best of smartphone specs, hands down! But being an Android device means you always have an option to further enhance the capability of a device by means of root access.
Although LG V10 has pretty great sound, but if you fancy an even louder music, developer mth7386 over at xda has got you covered with his sound boost MOD for the V10.
Currently, the MOD only boosts the Headphone sound, but the dev is working on getting ready for the device’ speaker and bluetooth streaming as well.
This LG V10 sound boost MOD works with Viper4Android. So you need root with SELinux set to permissive first to get Viper4Android working and then you can use the mod for that extra kick from your device.

How to Install Viper4Android on LG V10 and Boost Sound
- Get root. Here’s how to root LG V10.
- Download Viper4Android APK, Mixer MOD and SELinuxModeChanger from the downloads section above to your LG V10.
- Install the Viper4Android APK normally like you’d install any other apk file.
- Open Viper4Android app and grant it root access when asked.
- Now when Viper4Android asks for Driver installation, select Yes. You’ll get a list of drivers available for your CPU type. Select the one with superior quality.
- Go to developer options on your V10, and enable Awesome player from the Media section.
- Install the SELinuxModeChanger apk file. Open the app and set SELinux to permissive Mode.
- Now using a file manager app with root access (we recommend ES File explorer), go to system/etc/ directory.
- Rename the current mixer-paths.xml file to mixer-paths.xml.bak.
- Paste the mixer-paths.xml file you downloaded above to system/etc/ directory.
- Set file permission to 0644 (rw-r-r).
- Reboot phone.
That’s all. You should now hear a boost in volume on your LG V10.
Happy Androiding!
