BlackBerry DTEK50 has started soaking in a new software update. The update installs the latest monthly security patch.
Arriving as software version AAN493, the update brings August security patch. And as is the case with monthly security patches, the update should also include regular bug fixes and system enhancements.
The update, although a minor one, is highly recommended as it enhances the security of your device. BlackBerry is rolling out the update over the air. As is the case with OTA updates, it may take a while to hit your device. If you do not want to wait, head to Settings > About device > System updates to check for it manually.

Before hitting the download button, ensure that your device is at least 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network to avoid extra data charges.
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is a mid-range device launched last year in August minus the legacy qwerty keypad. It runs on Android Marshmallow.
