Ever wanted your Android phone to automatically get Mute when you’re in a meeting or so? Well, with Android 6.0 Marshmallow you can do exactly that, thanks to advanced settings in “Do not disturb” mode.

Marshmallow allows you to set “Automatic rules” with “Do not Disturb” mode for calendar events on your device. You can define which calendar the rule should follow and which DND mode to select for the events — Priority only, Alarms only, or Total silence.

Interested? Here’s how you can set Automatic rules for calendar events on Android 6.0 Marshmallow:

  1. Go to Settings > Sound & Notification > select “Do not disturb”.
  2. Select “Automatic rules” > and then select “Event”.
  3. Now select your preferences here from the various options.
  4. Once you’re done, tap the toggle on top right corner to turn On the rule.

That’s it. Be careful with this setting though. Make sure you don’t end up turning your device silenced when you don’t want it to.

Happy Androiding!
