AT&T has started rolling out the March security update to ZTE’s entry-level handset, the ZTE Maven (also known as the ZTE Z812).

Weighing in at 18MB, the update installs the monthly security patch on the smartphone. As usual, it brings along performance and stability improvements along with bug fixes.

ZTE Maven Z812 users have to be on build Z812V1.0.0B23 to receive the March security update. The smartphone, ever since it was launched back in 2015 is on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Considering its mediocre specs, we don’t see it receiving the update to Marshmallow either. However, it’s good to see AT&T and ZTE rolling out monthly updates which are quite important in terms of providing the additional security to users who own the device.

In terms of specs, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset clubbed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage space.

It has a 4.5-inch display and a 5MP camera at the back for capturing photos. There’s a 0.3MP VGA camera at the front. A 2,100mAh battery provides the fuel for the handset.
