AT&T updates Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with new mobile Hotspot APN and other features

AT&T is seeding new software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices on their network. The updates are available over-the-air right now and bring some new improvements and security patches.

Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on AT&T will now support Mobile Hotspot APN after installing this update. The software build number for the Galaxy S7 is NRD90M.G930AUCU4BQK2, whereas the S7 Edge gets build NRD90M.G935AUCU4BQK2. Both devices also get the November Android security patch.

The updates for both devices weigh around 356MB to 399MB and also include other improvements and fixes. For example, you will notice improvements in call quality and network performance. An AirWatch fix is also available for Enterprise users.

Samsung Oreo update release date

Before installing the updates, make sure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, and has more than 50 percent charge. You can also check for the update manually by heading to Settings > Software Update.

These devices are still running Android 7.0 Nougat, but Samsung will be updating them to Android Oreo sometime in Q1 2018. As of now, only the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have received an Oreo beta update.
