AT&T has released new software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The updates are rolling out to users right now as an OTA download. This is the first update of the year for these devices.
If you own either of the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge smartphone on AT&T, then you should be receiving the update notification. Unfortunately, it’s not the Android 8.0 Oreo update. This update, on the other hand, will improve the security of your device and also crush some bugs.
For starters, the update installs the December 2017 Android security patch and fixes the Blueborne vulnerability. The build number for this new update is G930AUCS4BQL1(Galaxy S7) and G935AUCS4BQL1(Galaxy S7 Edge). It weighs around 50MB in size.
Before installing the update, make sure your device has more than 50 percent charge and is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Samsung is still working on the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Hence, the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 is still a couple of months away.
