AT&T Nexus 6 users are now receiving the March security patch update today, arriving as an OTA as build number NBD92E. The update comes shortly after the Verizon Nexus 6 users received a similar update a few days ago.
The update, weighing in at 43MB brings you the latest security patches by Google along with a few miscellaneous bug fixes and optimizations. In case you were waiting for Android 7.1.1 — which would be last major Android version update for the device — your wait would continue as today’s OTA sis till based on Android 7.0.
Although the rollout should occur automatically, in case you you want it now, you can check if your device is eligible by looking for the update yourself. For that, go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and hit the ‘check for update’ button. Make sure that you have a sufficient battery on your device are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
We also feel the need to warn our users that some Nexus 6 devices are having issues with Android Pay ever since the March update. In case you use Android Pay frequently, it might be a good idea to hold on until the situation becomes clear as Google hasn’t come out with a fix yet.
