AT&T has begun rolling out yet another update for the LG V20, that brings the security patch from the month of May 2017 to August 2017 to the device. The last update that V20 received was build H91010M, which came with April security patch.
Besides updating the security patch level to August 1, 2017, the H91010P OTA also enhances HD Voice quality on the AT&T V20, while also improving on Wi-Fi calling.
We know you are waiting for the Oreo update from LG, but while this one is based on Android 7.0 — sorry, no 7.1.1 either just yet — you would be glad to know that the V20 indeed features on the LG Android 8.0 update list (check the link to know more about Oreo news and expected release date for LG devices).
We are expecting Android Oreo from a lot of manufacturers now, but the Nokia 8 and OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 look like receiving it before any other Android device, except for the Pixel and Nexus sets for which the 8.0 is already available. Also, we can’t really take Android One sets like Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto X4 for comparison of Oreo rollout (check link for release date of Oreo for all popular Android devices), because these handsets would receive Android 8.0 directly from Google.
When do you expect LG to bring the Oreo OTA to your device? Given that they haven’t rolled out 7.1.1 yet, do you expect faster rollout of 8.0? We do think though, that they will skip the 7.1.1, and get you a jump to 8.0 directly from 7.0.
