AT&T is pushing out a new update for its HTC One M7, model PN07120, that as the carrier puts it, brings ‘device performance improvements’. The update’s version is 7.23.502.9, and it runs on Android 5.0 with Sense 6.0 atop.

It’s not your Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, thus, and it’s not even security oriented one either. Given the fact that AT&T One M7 is still making do with Android 5.0, this feels pretty lame on the part of both HTC and AT&T to skip so many cool updates for the rockstar device of its time.

The fact that One M7 is two years old doesn’t do any favor to HTC and AT&T, as even the Galaxy S5 (released at around same time as One M7) has received the Marshmallow update, which is why kudos to Samsung.

What do you think of HTC’s treatment of One M7 updates?
