AT&T Galaxy S7 Active gets PL1 update, installs December security patch

AT&T is currently seeding a new PL1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. This is a minor update that installs the December Android security patch. The build number is G891AUCS2APL1 and it weighs 44.8MB.

This update is still based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. AT&T is late with this update, as it installs the December security patch, while devices have already started to get the January security patch.

Make sure you have enough charge on your S7 Active and are on a strong WiFi or Cellular connection before you install this update. If you haven’t received the update, you can check for it manually under Software Updates in the Settings app.

The last update for the AT&T Galaxy S7 Active was released in November 2016 and that installed the November security patch along with some other features. The Nougat update for the S7 Active is still a couple of months away. You can expect it to be released sometime between April and May 2017.
