It took long for AT&T Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Android 5.1.1 update to hit the rollout phase but it’s finally here. It’s been ages since T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge received 5.1.1, and if you felt let down by AT&T, you weren’t wrong.

Btw, we’ve already seen Samsung rolling out Samsung Pay enabling/dedicated update for its S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5 sets at Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.

With 5.1.1 update coming about the same time as Samsung Pay updates are rolling out, we’d say the updates brings Samsung Pay support too, along with a dedicated app. Perhaps Samsung Pay is what that’s finally causing AT&T to hit the trigger for 5.1.1 too.

Users have begun reporting about the 670 MB sized update for their AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge, and while we have no such report for Galaxy S6 yet, we believe it will be available soon too. When available, the AT&T Galaxy S6 5.1.1 update should be carrying the build no. G920AUCU3BOI2, as the one reported for Galaxy S6 Edge is G925AUCU3BOI2.

If you own an AT&T Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, check for updates now under Settings > About device.

Do feedback us on Android 5.1.1 and Samsung Pay once you are able to use them on your AT&T S6 and S6 Edge.
