AT&T Galaxy S6 Active and Nexus 6 receive OTA update with August security patch

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active and Nexus 6 on AT&T are both receiving a new software update which brings along the latest Android security patch.

The update arrives with the software version G890AUCS6DQH1 and N6F27I for the Galaxy S6 Active and Nexus 6 respectively and installs the August security patch on both the smartphones.

AT&T has already seeded the security patch over-the-air which means you should see an update notification pop up on respective handset’s  screen anytime now.

‘Android Oreo supports theming without root’

To check for the update manually, however, you’ll have to go to Settings > About device > System updates.

Before hitting the download button, make sure to switch to a Wi-Fi network to avoid unnecessary data charges. Also, keep a back up of your personal data handy in case you come across any issues during the installation process.
