BlackBerry PRIV users on AT&T are receiving a new firmware update which installs the latest monthly patch on the device. The update is being rolled out over the air as we speak.
Arriving as build number AAJ925, the new firmware update comes with March security patch as well as regular bug fixes. It also optimizes device performance. The update is highly recommended as it gives you the most up to date Android security patch on your Blackberry device.
As it is being rolled out as an OTA update, it might take some time to hit your device. But you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > About device > System updates. However, before hitting the download button, connect your device to a WiFi network and ensure your phone’s battery is fully charged.
Meanwhile, Verizon is also seeding out the March security update to BlackBerry PRIV devices which arrives as build AAJ926.
Launched in 2015 with Android Lollipop on board, BlackBerry PRIV software has been bumped up to Android Marshmallow. As the the PRIV held flagship status with top of the line specifications, we believe it might receive the Android Nougat update sometime in the second half of this year.
