Asus ZenWatch and ZenWatch 2 update rolling out with April security patch, build M1D65P

Asus is rolling out new security updates for the first gen and the second gen Asus ZenWatch smartwatches. If you own one of these, you should soon be notified of a new OTA update.

The update doesn’t bring any new features to the smartwatch, but it does install new security patches. Both the first gen Asus ZenWatch(WI500Q) and the ZenWatch 2(WI502Q) are getting the April Android security patches, along with other security fixes. The software version is M1D65P and it is being seeded over-the-air.

Both of these smartwatches are quite old. The original ZenWatch was released in September 2014, and the ZenWatch 2 in September 2015. They featured rectangular design, but then Asus switched to a round design with the ZenWatch 3, which was released in December last year.

The new security updates were released on May 15, so if you own one of these smartwatches, you must’ve received the OTA notification by now. If you haven’t, don’t worry, you will get it soon.
