Asus launched the ZenFone 5 series at the MWC 2018 but it took the company up to this month to start selling the family’s top-tier offering, the ZenFone 5Z. So far, the phone is available for purchase in Japan and a handful of other markets in Europe and is also coming to India soon.

For those who have already purchased the phone, there’s a new update rolling out that installs software version 80.11.37.53, which is based on the latest Android Oreo. As per the changelog, the update brings improvements to the camera quality – a camera that looks fine on paper thanks to a dual 12MP + 8MP setup on the back and an 8MP shooter on the front.

Besides improving camera quality, the ZenFone 5Z update also enables VoLTE services on Japan’s TWM carrier.

This is an OTA update, which means it’ll take a few days before every ZenFone 5Z user gets the download notification. However, to check if the firmware is already available for downloading, open the Settings app > System > System update and tap on Check update.
