Asus has restarted pushing out the Android Nougat update for ZenFone 3 units starting today and which is on the roll out as we speak. The new software update arrives as build number 14.2015.1701.8 and installs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

The Nougat update for Asus ZenFone 3, which was initially rolled out way back in January, was halted due to unforeseen issues just 10 days after its initiation. Fixing the issues, the company has resumed the OS update.

The Android 7.0 Nougat is rolling out via OTA update for ZenFone 3 (model no ZE520KL and ZE552KL). Follow the instructions to install the Nougat update:

1. Once the update is available, notification will automatically pop up on your status bar. Tap on this notification to download the update.

2. Once download is completed, a pop-up to install the update will appear. Tap Install to continue.

3. The device will reboot twice during the installation of the update. Do not turn off the device until the home screen appears.

The OTA update is being rolled out gradually and will take about one week before all ZenFone 3 devices are updated. If you do not want to wait, you can check for it by going to Settings>>About device>>System Updates. But before hitting the download button, make sure to have at least 1.5GB free space on your internal storage. Also ensure that your phone is at least 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network.
