A new software update is available for the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) that brings some improvements and new features to the device. The version number is 12.40.108.17 and it is being delivered over-the-air.
It may take up to a week for users to see the update notification. Meanwhile, you could check for the update manually by launching Settings app and heading to About » System Update. The update is still based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is for the cheaper Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS550KL variant.
Included in the new update is a Pure Mode for when the earphones are connected. The new mode is available in the Audio Wizard. A new tutorial for the NFC function has been added. And the touch performance of the device has been improved with the update.
An update for the more expensive and powerful Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL was released last month. No word on when the Nougat update will be available for these devices. The Zenfone series will most likely get the update, hopefully by the end of Q1 2017.
