The complete specsheet of the Asus X00KD has turned up at TENAA now, confirming GFXBench leak from before that it is a budget oriented smartphone. The Asus device, whose moniker still remains unknown, is powered by a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.25GHz, which we think should be from MediaTek.

The X00KD will also come in 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variants with storage also being expandable via microSD. The front of the device features a 5-inch HD display and the smartphone gets its juice from a large 4020mAh battery.

The highlight of the Asus X00KD though, is the dual 13MP+8MP dual camera present behind along with a 5MP selfie camera. Dual shooters are becoming more of a common occurrence than a flagship level feature nowadays.

We’re not really sure if the smartphone’s home button also acts as the fingerprint scanner, but it most probably should, as this commonplace in almost all smartphones now, even for the ultra budget devices.

Asus will be shipping the X00KD with Android 7.0 Nougat on board (thank our lucky stars for that!). Lately, we’ve started seeing many lower end devices ship with Nougat. Considering the specs it packs in, the Asus X00KD stays a couple of notches above the recently announced Zenfone Live.

We don’t have a word on the pricing but it wouldn’t hurt to say that the Asus X00D is set to compete with ZTE’s Nubia N1 Lite and the Huawei Honor Play 6A. Asus may take the wraps off this device in a couple of weeks or by next month at the most.
