Asus has announced two 10.1 inch models to join the Transformer Pad series, extending its Android powered detachable laptops section. The two models with model numbers TF303CL and TF103C will run on Intel processors and comes with solid design features.
The High-end TF303CL model device features a 10.1 inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Full HD IPS panel with 178-degree wide viewing angles. The company boasts of providing a vivid and bright display. The device offers a 10-point multi-touch and comes with an Anti-finger print coating to prevent any finger prints or smudges on the screen. The device is solidly built and features an enhanced stereo front-facing speakers which will offer more sound clarity.
The device is powered by the Intel’s 64-bit quad-core Atom chip Z3745, clocked at 1.86 GHz and coupled with a 2 GB of RAM. On the Storage front, the device comes in 16GB/32GB variants with microSD expansion, but it is quite low for a detachable laptop. However the company provides 5 GB of ASUS Web Storage space for life, with an additional 11 GB for the 1st year. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4.2 which is customized UI called Zen UI running on top of it. The device sports a 5 MP camera on the back along with a 1.2 MP front-facing camera.
The TF303CL Transformer pad supports LTE for Europe and Asia-Pacific with Downlink speed upto 150Mbps and Uplink speed upto 50Mbps along with WiFI and Bluetooth for communcation purposes. Another modification to the Transformer pad is that the battery in the new keyboard dock is removed, which reduces its weight to 505 gms (previously 546 gms) bringing the overall weight to 1.1 Kg of which the tab weighs 595 gms. The device hosts a 25 Wh battery which lasts for 10 hours as the company claims.

ASUS also announced the WiFi-only TF103C model to join the Transformer Pad series. Most components used in this model obviously hints it as a low price model. It runs on the latest high-performance Intel BayTrail quad-core processor coupled with just 1 GB of RAM. The display has downgraded to a 10.1 inch 1,280 x 800 resolution IPS display. The design of the device is however great from the looks.
The device offers a mere 8 GB/16 GB internal storage which is not at all great for a detachable however you can expand it with microSD card. This model also run on Android KitKat 4.4.2 topped with Asus’s Zen UI. The device sports 2 MP rear camera as well as a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. The device hosts a 19 Wh battery which resides in the tablet portion. The device comes in white and black colors which should be attractive.
