The beta version of Android Pie has been released by Asus for its budget phone, the ZenFone Max Pro M2. This was announced by Asus India on its official Twitter handle.
Alongside a poster of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 phone showing an image of an actual pie dish, the company also posted this statement:
“The Beta User Program gives you early access to the update for feedback and testing so that the official Android Pie update is served as delicious and stable as you’d like it. If you wish to test it out, you may download the Android Beta update here: http://asus.in/beta-testing/“.
The tweet was sent out at 8:43 a.m. IST on the 1st of February. Since then, the company has been actively replying to user tweets pointing out various performance issues and lack of features on the phone. This is not unusual with beta software, though, so be sure that you are up for this before opting your ZenFone Max Pro M2 into Pie beta.
The ZenFone Max M2 is also expected to receive an update to Android Pie, but it is so far not part of this beta program, so we will have to wait and see what plans Asus has for the Max Pro M2’s understudy.
