YouTube is making it easier for artists to let their fans know about their upcoming events, and will also allow them to sell tickets via their videos. For example, if you’re watching a video of your favorite artist on YouTube, you will now see information about their upcoming concert dates, with a link to purchase tickets.
Most people would love to see their favorite artists perform live, and this is a great way for fans to connect with the artists. This move will also help the artists, as they will now reach a bigger audience. This move is mainly targeted at the audience who, not just wants to see the video, but also wants to watch them live at a concert.
‘Google Home app receives new look and changes’
YouTube is partnering with Ticketmaster to sell event and concert tickets. You will now see a Tickets button next to the upcoming event. Clicking on the button will take you to the Ticketmaster website and you can then purchase it.
This is just the beginning, says Google, as they will add more ticket sellers and find more ways to connect fans with artists on YouTube. As of now, this will only work for concerts and events in the US. Also, only those artists who sell tickets via Ticketmaster will have this feature enabled on their videos.
Google does plan on expanding this feature to more artists globally, but that may take a while. Starting now, you will see the events information and the Tickets option for your favorite artists.
