MWC 2105 is just around the corner, there has been news all over the internet about the various devices that would be showcased there. Apart from Samsung, HTC and Sony, small players including budget-phone maker Archos will be gracing the event at Barcelona. French company Archos has announced it will be launching four new budget-friendly smartphones, all powered by MediaTek processors, and all priced under $200.
The new smartphones include the Archos 52 Platinum, 59 Xenon, 62 Xenon, and 50 Oxygen Plus. Archos’ new Platinum and Xenon phones have a strong focus on multi-media and have quite many features in common. Though the devices flaunt different display sizes, they will have the same 1280 x 720 resolution. The Archos 52 Platinum sports a 5.25-inch display, while the 59 Xenon will come with a 5.9- inch screen, and the 62 Xenon features a 6.27- inch screen.
Other common goodies among the first three devices include 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage and microSD card slot. Each of these devices will have an 8MP rear camera while the 52 Platinum and 59 Xenon ill also have a 2MP front shooter. The 62 Xenon will have a better front camera with a 5MP sensor. These will run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and support 3G connectivity including HSPA+.
The Archos 50 Oxygen Plus might be the impressive device of the three shared above because of its ultra-thin body, measuring under 0.3mm thick. The Oxygen Plus also features a 5- inch display with a 720p resolution. The 3G model will be equipped with 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage which can be expanded to 128GB via micro SD card. Like the other three samrtphones, the Archos 50 Oxygen Plus will also come with Android 4.4 KitKat.
Archos is also planning to release an LTE model in June 2015 with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Get ready to watch all these Archos devices at MWC 2015 in Barcelona on March 2nd.
