What to know

  • You can now pin songs, albums, playlists, and artists for quick Library access.
  • Lyrics translation and pronunciation are available, aiding cross-language listening (and karaoke).
  • The Replay feature now offers detailed monthly and yearly stats in-app.
  • Some iOS enhancements like the complete visual overhaul (Liquid Glass) and AutoMix are still not included on Android.
  • The new features are available on Apple Music version 5.0 on Android.

Apple Music on Android recently received a spate of features available on the iOS 26. The latest version, 5.0, brings the ability to pin items to the library, lyrics translation and pronunciation, and replay stats. It's a big change that is expected to cozy Android users to Apple Music. Here's everything that's new and how to use it:

Pinning brings instant access to songs, albums, artists, playlists

Apple Music on Android supports pinning your favorite content to the top of the Library. This works for individual songs, entire albums, playlists, or artists.

To pin, simply tap on the three-dot icon next to any item and select Pin.

Pinning provides a grid view for quick taps, and pins can automatically download for offline listening if desired. Pins sync across all devices using your Apple ID, making management easier for those who jump between Android and iOS.

Lyrics translation and pronunciation

Following the iOS 26 lead, Android users can use machine learning-powered lyrics translation and pronunciation guides.

Find these in the Display Options under Settings, and have translated lyrics and proper pronunciation displayed together for multilingual tracks.

You can choose which of these - lyrics or pronunciation - appears larger from the same Display Options setting.

This broadens access, enabling listeners to understand lyrics and sing along, regardless of the original language, while retaining the song’s mood and meaning.

Note: While the pronunciation feature works great, we couldn't get access to translations as of yet, even on some of the biggest non-English hits.

Enhanced Replay statistics

The Replay panel on Android gains monthly and year-end stats, providing a clearer look at listening habits over time. No longer limited to yearly recaps, Android users can now track music trends and engagement throughout the year, right from the app.

Visual tweaks, but no major redesign

Apple Music 5.0 also brings pill-shaped controls (shuffle, repeat, autoplay, and more) in place of rectangular buttons, mirroring visual changes from iOS 26, but the broader Liquid Glass redesign remains exclusive to Apple’s ecosystem for now. The app’s core layout, including the bottom navigation bar and miniplayer, is unchanged.

Apple Music’s 5.0 update considerably narrows the gap with its iOS sibling by adding core features focused on personalization and inclusivity. While visual parity remains elusive, improvements in pins, cross-language lyrics, and historical stats suggest Apple is committed to a consistent multi-platform experience.
